What has become to be known as The Original Shabbard is Shad’s custom commission of a leather back scabbard that fulfills the function of his famous back scabbard design with a side opening for quick one handed drawing and sheathing.

The Original Shabbard is a bespoke commission custom made to carry Shad’s (monstrously long) Windlass English Two Handed Sword, found HERE.
A later commission upgraded The Original Shabbard to have a collection of pouches in different sizes that could be strapped to the Bandolier as well as a Hook and Loop connection point for spears or bows.

As “Shabbards” are custom made to your individual requirements they are not cheap, and many factors affect the price. To help speed up the quote process it helps if you have considered a few factors:
What sword would you like it made for (there are construction differences for LARP vs Real swords and it helps to know ahead of time)?
Would you like any detailed design carved into the leatherwork?
Would you like any pouches or other accessories, and if so would you like them modular or fixed?
The easiest way for me to make a “Shabbard” is to work directly from the original sword. This also reduces the price of the quote for the work but does bring with it increased prices in shipping and logistics. Shipping swords in and out of the UK is a very challenging activity as well and can cause heavy delays. Because of this I cannot accept swords from international customers and I have developed ways to work “remotely” by making a template of your sword to work from (as I did for Shad). While this means more work and will affect the price it does mean that the quote I give you is exact and not subject to increased shipping costs.
Finally, I’ll need to know where in the world you are and would like to have your “Shabbard” shipped to.
All “Shabbards” are lovingly hand crafted for you, your sword, and your aesthetic. They are utterly personal items and as such each is a truly one of a kind creation. They are not kept in stock or made in uniform sizes so no one else in the world will have one quite like yours.
